Emily & Taylor’s Elegant Church Wedding

Emily is a real La Mariée bride who got married on May 6, 2023 in St. John's Episcopal Church! We absolutely loved working with her to find her dream wedding dress for her big day. We are so happy to share more about her and her new husband, Taylor!

Read on to learn more about Emily & Taylor, what she loved most about wedding planning and her advice to future brides!

How did you and your partner meet? How long have you been together?
We met while in school at OSU and were in the same friend group. We started dating 3 years after college when we reconnected at an OSU football game in the fall of 2018.

What was your favorite part of the wedding planning process?
I'm not just saying this, but truly one of my favorite memories was finding my dress at La Mariee Boutique. I had been looking for a dress for several months and hadn't seen anything close to what I wanted. The feeling of trying on my dress at LMB and knowing immediately that it was "the one", is a memory I will treasure forever.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
So hard to choose just one favorite part of the day! Marrying my husband and having our first look exceeded all my expectations, but something else that also stands out is the time I had with my bridesmaids before the ceremony. We were surprisingly ahead of schedule and had an hour to relax and have fun together without anything on our agenda. It was such a special time I will never forget.

What was your experience like shopping at La Mariée Boutique?
I had been looking for a dress for several months before stumbling into La Mariee Boutique for their sample sale the day after Thanksgiving. Since time was getting closer to my wedding, I thought that buying a dress of the rack would be a good option for me. I've heard that sample sales can be chaotic and leave you with not much time to try on dresses, but this was the opposite experience. After trying on pretty much every sample dress and not finding the right one, Elizabeth said there was a non-sample sale dress she had that she thought was a good match to what I was wanting. And she was right! It was perfect and exactly what I had been looking for - and she was able to get it on time for my wedding! Best day ever.

If you could give one piece of advice to future brides, what would it be?
Don't take things too seriously! It's easy to get caught up on all the little details, but in the end they didn't really matter. Your guests are going to have fun no matter what so don't sweat the small stuff. And if you hire vendors that are reputable and you trust, they won't let you down. But most of all - enjoy it! The day goes by unbelievably fast so just have fun!
